Curio

A science tutor for children aged 10 to 12.

A child asks a science question and gets a short, clear answer with follow-up questions to choose from. Following them makes a trail of five steps, and finishing a trail earns a stamp.

Made by Ayaan and Naz Mir.

  • Rust
  • TypeScript
  • SwiftUI
  • Ollama
  • llama.cpp
Starts with
Sparks: 66 starter questions across 11 science topics, from space to the human body.
Runs on
A computer at home. A Rust server hands each question to an open model on that machine, not to a cloud AI service.
Offline
The iPhone and iPad app carries a smaller model inside it and can answer with no internet.
Keeps
Questions and answers are not stored on the server. Trails and stamps stay on the child's device.
Status
Web app running. iPhone and iPad app in TestFlight testing.

Nothing else is listed yet. The next project appears here when it is ready to use.

About

I'm Naz Mir. things & systems is the home for my side projects: the apps and tools, and the machines and services underneath them.

A project gets an entry when it works, with a plain account of what it does and how it runs.
